Book Birthday Bash

A STORM OF WISHES: THE COLLECTORS, VOL. 2 by Jacqueline WestHappy Book Birthday to A STORM OF WISHES (THE COLLECTORS, VOL. 2)!

In this middle-grade novel, Van hasn’t made a wish in weeks. Not since he almost died because of one. Not since he lost his best friend, Pebble. Van knows that even a seemingly harmless wish can whisk you into a dangerous adventure. But then he finds the postcard. “Wish you were here,” it says. And that’s how Van ends up in the woods far from the city, trying to rescue Pebble from a greedy man who wants to collect–and control–the most powerful magic in the world. Because in those woods, at the bottom of a deep, dark well, lies an ancient creature who has been eating wishes for centuries. No one knows just how powerful it is. And no one knows just how much trouble it can cause.

We’re so happy you’re at our party for A STORM OF WISHES (THE COLLECTORS, VOL. 2). Join in the fun…

PARTY LOCATION…

This party is being held at a secluded mansion, deep in a shadowy forest. Each room of the mansion is crammed with collected treasures–everything from board games to seashells to suits of armor–and there are plenty of places to hide dangerous secrets.

PARTY SOUNDS…

If Van’s mother or Mr. Falborg have anything to say about it, it will be opera. (But if Van and Peter get to choose, it will probably be death metal, just to annoy their parents.)

PARTY FOOD…

Van is a big fan of gelato, so there will be an array of flavors from all over the world. Barnavelt the squirrel is a fan of snack foods of all kinds, so there will also be popcorn, caramel corn, candy corn, peanuts, honey roasted peanuts, peanut candy, peanut butter — every snack he can manage to think of before something else distracts him. And if any Wish Eaters attend, there might also be wishes on the menu…

PARTY GAMES…

Scavenger hunts, hide and seek, and moonlit races through an ancient forest.

PARTY FAVORS…

Party favors are small, sealed boxes. Each one contains a Wish Eater: a magical creature that can grant wishes–but each time it eats a wish, the larger and more powerful the Eater grows. Every Wish Eater is different. Some look like lemurs or bears or bats, some look like wolf-headed centipedes or jagged-toothed dragons. Some are gentle. Some are not. It’s up to you: Do you take a box?
