Happy Book Birthday to LEXI MAGILL AND THE TELEPORTATION TOURNAMENT!
In this middle-grade novel, twelve-year-old physics whiz Lexi Magill considers herself the top junior scientist in Wisconsin. But after her father loses his job, her family institutes a massive Downsizing Initiative. First to go? Lexi’s pricey science academy. Lexi has the perfect solution to get back to the academy–she’ll win the annual teleportation tournament, where kids race around the world solving STEAM-based puzzles.
The only hiccup is that her teammates need to be from the same school, and now that she’s in public school, she doesn’t know anyone that well. Two kids with different backgrounds come to Lexi’s aid, but as the tournament rages on, the team faces pitfalls, wrong turns, missed clues, and sabotage. Somehow Lexi and her team have to get it together or else they may never cross the finish line. Along the way, Lexi may just learn there’s more to the world than being the best scientist and who her real friends are.
We’re so happy you’re at our party for LEXI MAGILL AND THE TELEPORTATION TOURNAMENT. Join in the fun…
PARTY LOCATION…
Miller Park, Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Lexi is a huge Brewers fan, and what better way to celebrate than tailgating before a Brewers game? Especially now that they’re in the playoffs!
PARTY SOUNDS…
Lexi is a huge fan of Fitz and Tantrums, particularly “Handclap,” which is played routinely at Brewers games. She needs uptempo, for sure, and she also likes contemporary country. Anything that sounds good blaring from the portable stereo, though she hopes her parents won’t whip out their 80s music!
PARTY FOOD…
Tailgate specialties–brats, hot dogs, hamburgers, potato salad, chips and dip, and, of course, Wisconsin cheese. Cheese curds, cheese slices, cheese anything! Topping it off is a big cake with lots of sprinkles–Lexi’s fave!
PARTY GAMES…
“Bags” also known as cornhole–it’s a tailgate classic! Lexi would also bring her softball mitt to throw the ball around.
PARTY FAVORS…
Lexi would be thrilled to distribute pins, bookmarks, and stickers documenting her tournament run!

Looks like a fantastic book.
Such a fun book! I’m hoping her parents get their way on the music though — can’t have too much 80s music. 🙂
